Incomplete combustion—which can be determined by the height and color of the tank’s flame—occurs when the propane burns improperly. When the regulator is working correctly and the propane-fueled appliance is adjusted, the flame should be blue and evenly dispersed around the burner. If there are yellow or orange flames, there is likely a problem with the regulator. Other signs of incomplete combustion include soot deposits on the burner and popping sounds when the tank is turned on and off.

Keep your family safe with pure, great tasting, drinkable water. A water filter gives you access to purified drinking water that simply tastes better. Most importantly, you can rest assured knowing that your water filter is keeping out any chemicals or toxins from your city's water supply. If you already have a water filter system and need replacement parts, you can find the exact piece you need. Looking for a way to reduce your environmental impact? Water filtration systems help to cut back on plastic bottle use. By choosing to use a water filter, you are making a difference. A fridge water filter can also make it easier to make sure your family is drinking enough water. Thinking about more ways to avoid germs and potential chemicals? Install a water faucet filter. No matter what you wash in the sink, you'll always know that it's safe and pure. Whatever your needs are, you can find a water filter system that works for you.

All regulators have a date code and should be changed out according to manufacturer specifications. Keep in mind that though propane regulators may be adjusted by licensed propane professionals, they’re never repaired or subject to repair. They must be replaced. And if you’ve noticed one or more of these warning signs, it may be time for that replacement.

Most modern refrigerators use either a twist-on filter or a push-in filter. Changing them is easy, but in both cases turn off the power and water to the fridge and place a dish towel under the filter to catch any drips. For a twist-on filter, simply rotate the filter ¼ turn counterclockwise and remove it from the housing. Then insert the new filter and give it a ¼ turn clockwise. A push-in filter will have a spring mechanism that can be released via a button or pushing in the filter. This will open the housing door allowing you to replace the water filter.

You should clean your water filter pitcher every 1-2 weeks to prevent the buildup of bacteria, mould, and fungi that could potentially make you ill. Simply remove the filter and hand-wash the pitcher, lid, and reservoir with water and a mild detergent. Never put the any of the components in the dishwasher as the high heat could cause damage.

The propane gas regulator is one of the most important components of a propane gas system. Not only does it control the flow and distribution of propane, but it also provides a safety barrier between the high-pressure tank and the appliances it fuels. To keep the system running smoothly and safely, it needs to be replaced regularly.

Propane has a distinct odor. If you can smell it, you’ve got a leak. If it’s a leak in your regulator, it’s most likely coming from the diaphragm—a flexible disc that works with the regulator vent to adjust the flow of gas when changes in pressure occur. If you smell propane coming out of the vent, there’s probably an issue with the diaphragm—and the regulator.

A reverse osmosis filter uses pressure to force water through a semi-permeable membrane that blocks contaminants. This includes lead, fluoride, mercury, nitrates, and sodium. The system usually also includes a sediment filter and carbon filter to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like chlorine and other contaminants that can cause bad tastes or odours. The result is great tasting water that won’t leave scale deposits on kettles, irons, humidifiers, and indoor plants.

A UV water disinfection system is ideal if your home or cottage water comes from a well or lake. The ultra-violet light serves to disrupt the DNA of 99.9% of living pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and cysts like giardia and cryptosporidium. This renders the microorganism unable to function. It also prevents reproduction, which means the pathogens cannot infect other organisms such as the people and pets that drink the water.

If a propane regulator gets wet, it’s all over. The water allows chemicals and debris to enter the regulator spring area, which can lead to corrosion and failure. Though it may seem undamaged at first, the equipment will unevenly disperse the gas through the appliance and lower its efficiency.
