This 1/4 IN reduced pressure zone assembly backflow preventer helps prevent the flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to back-siphonage and or backpressure in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements. Its compact modular design facilitates easy maintenance with a single access cover for in-line repairs. It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards and for contaminants at the service line entrance. This assembly consists of a bronze body, NPT end connections, quarter turn ball valve shut-offs with tee handles, top mounted test cocks, two in-line independent check valves, captured springs, and replaceable check seats with an internal relief valve for reduced space requirements.

Complies to API 602 and ASME B16.34 standards. A compact but extremely sturdy design for high pressure-temperature service. Available with bolted or welded bonnet. Meets API 624 and ISO 15848-1 fugitive emissions standards. Packing rings are pre-compressed in the packing chamber to ensure equal stress distribution, effectiveness of all rings and a high integrity seal. For welded bonnet valves, the bonnet is threaded in and torqued to an engineered torque value and the body bonnet joint is strength-welded, offering double protection against leakage. (body/bonnet threads and strength-weld). CoCr alloy hardfaced wedge (optional) ensures low friction and long service life. Fully guided wedge reduces wear on seating surfaces. For Class 1500 valves and for steam service, seats are seal-welded to the body. Repairable two-piece stem drive. Pre-positioned field injection ports for precise application of low emissions (Low-E) injectable packing through the bonnet (applies to bolted bonnet gate NPS 1/4–2 (DN 8–50) Class 150–1500). Optional designs available with double packing, leak-off connection, live-loading, and packing blowout for easy removal of old packing.
