Welcome to our Velocity of Fluid in Pipe (m/s) hydraulic calculator, a handy tool when designing hydraulic systems. This pipes and hoses formulae calculator allows you to input the Flow Rate (Q) in l/min and the Pipe Diameter (d) in mm to obtain the corresponding Velocity (m/s). To ensure optimal system performance, it's crucial to consider the recommended fluid velocity ranges. For suction lines, the recommended range is 0.625m/s – 1.25m/s, for pressure lines it's 2.1m/s – 4.75m/s, and for return lines, it's 1.5m/s - 3m/s. These ranges are based on oils with a maximum viscosity grade of 70 cSt at 38°C, operating between 18°C and 51°C. Additionally, please note that for pipe runs greater than 10m, the pipe size should be increased proportionally. Furthermore, it's important to keep the intake line length under 1m.

Note: For pipe runs greater than 10m the pipe size should be increased correspondingly. The intake line should never exceed 1m in length.
