The repair kits should be available at any Watts Master Stocking Distributor or most commercial plumbing wholesalers. You may not be licensed or certified to make such repairs or possess the testing equipment necessary to check your valve. Start with a local plumbing supply company first. Best Wishes

they are supposed to be repairable in place. As a side note, that is not the proper valve for that purpose. As stated in Watts' specifications, "Only those cross-connections identified by local inspection authorities as non-health hazard shall be allowed the use of an approved double check valve assembly" and the water downstream of an irrigation valve IS a health hazard which is why the proper valve is required.

After months of judder/watter hammer noise in the house whenever the lawn sprinkler system was running it suddenly got so noisy it woke me up at 4am. After some investigation around the house I went out to the front yard and closed both valves on the Watts 007M1QT backflow preventer installed in a below ground box (approx 18" x 12". The noise immediately stopped and the vibration on the main water feed into the house ceased. I'm assuming the backflow preventer is at fault. Can I get a repair kit for it (they seem to offer several but i'm not sure what needs replacing). Can I do the repair with the unit still fitted in place in the under ground box (it's only about 12-18" below the ground). I assume that removing/replacing it would be difficult because I couldn't pull the pipes away from either end while it's in the ground. I'm from England and never had a sprinkler system before so I didn't know it wasn't supposed to make so much noise.

much depends on the positioning of this type parts kit#.rk007m1rt for 3/4 and1".not real difficult.search at wattsregulator .com for parts kits for other sizes. Edited 1 times.
